London's restaurants suited to marketing client lunches

People having lunch

There’s an art to a great client lunch, especially for marketers; the atmosphere, the table layout, the decor, the menu, and the location. It’s no wonder that selecting a location has many marketing executives fretting.

If you’re in this position, we’re here to help. Whether you’re searching for a perfect place to begin a client relationship, or simply an impromptu lunch after an important meeting, we provide a selection of suitable venues. We leave the formality of stereotypical city venues behind, instead profiling venues that are guaranteed to start conversations and give clients an experience worth remembering.

Joe Allen – Covent Garden

Joe Allen restaurant

You can spend a lifetime visiting Covent Garden and never come across Joe Allen, which is precisely why it may appeal. In among streets and streets of chain restaurants, Joe Allen stands perfectly out from the crowd.

It’s a small, intimate venue, full of character and history. The menu is also perfectly suited for a client lunch. It’s simple yet with just enough choice to cater for all tastes. It’s also famed for its ‘off menu’ burger, which is a guaranteed talking point.

Its quaint decor makes it perfect for a meeting which blends formality and informality, particularly when the aim is to soften up the conversation.

Amazonico - Mayfair

If you’re looking for something entirely different, then look no further than Amazonico. The space offers mesmerising decor, first-class service and intriguing Latin food combinations. There’s also something for everyone, with the menu covering a wide variety of dishes.

This is an expensive place, even for a client lunch, but if you’re looking for an upmarket vibe, it may just be what you’re looking for.

Brasserie Zedel - Piccadilly

Set in the heart of Piccadilly and on the edge of Soho, you’d be forgiven for never having heard of this place before. Unless of course you have, in which case you’ll know that its humble exterior hides a wealth of experiences inside. As well as offering an impressive eating hall downstairs, there is also a separate bar and a music and cabaret venue. The food is also pretty great too. Without being fussy, there are plenty of options, all with an authentically French take. If Brasserie food is what you’re looking for, then this is likely to be up there with any other.

Just the ticket? Check out Brasserie Zedel’s website for more details.

Café Laville - Edgware Road

If you’re hunting down a relaxed place in a beautiful setting, then why not check out Café Laville. Situated in Little Italy, it isn’t easy to get to, but it may provide the opportunity to explore a new area. The Italian menu is also clean, simple, and varied, so it’s likely to suit all tastes.

Just the ticket? Refer to the Café Laville website for more details.

Dishoom - Multiple locations

Dishoom has a wealth of social currency in the creative, media, and marketing industries. And for good reason. The food is regularly rated as sensational. This can be seen from the queues that regularly form outside. So, despite its growing number of locations, it still retains its gravitas.

However, you may need to assess the tastes of the client ahead of time. It is a place to enjoy the food as much as it is to chat about work, so that to will also need to be factored in. That said, this could make it a winner, particularly if the client rarely comes to London.

Just the ticket? See the Dishoom website for more details.

YuuKitchen - Aldgate East

If you’re in and around the East End and Shoreditch, then this may be the place for you. It provides an aspect of creativity and intrigue that marketers often crave. The pan Asian cuisine is focused on Impressive Bao Buns, which provide all theatre to break the ice and get conversations flowing. It’s lack of formality also lends itself to an impromptu lunch more than an introductory meeting.

Just the ticket? See the YuuKitchen website for more details.

Seabird – Southwark

When a little wow factor is required, there’s no better way to do it than with an incredible view and a stunning location. The Seabird offers these, but with the added benefit that it’s less well trodden than similar venues such as The Shard or The Sky Garden. The restaurant is famed for its Spanish and Portuguese influences, with a broad array of taste-tingling dishes to choose from.

It may be a little more plush than required for the average client meeting, but if you really want to give a client special treatment, then it may just be what you’re looking for.

Just the ticket? Have a look at the Seabird website for more details.

That’s it for now. We hope you’ve enjoyed the list.

Until next time.
