The All-In Appreciation Society

While the world has been crumbling, and with that, the fabric of their discussions, the sultan of science, the dictator, the rain man and the world’s greatest moderator have been there to settle us into our cocoa.

As a homage to their neediness in the 100th episode, and following discussions that they might be taking a break, we felt it essential to say thanks by going beyond a five-star review.

We may be mere mortals in some distant realm here in the UK, but we feel compelled to share seven reasons why the pod is just so engaging. They know them… but do they know we know… or do they know we know they know we know?

The high-level insight

There are very few, if any, podcasts in the world that provide such fertile ground for discussion as the All-in. For most people, and especially those outside the world series, life is a little more mundane, with ideas barely breaking beyond ‘I’ve got a great idea…’ Yet, for an hour a week, we all get to hear from four guys who are prepared to tell us about all their T-shirts.

The disagreement

In every aspect of society, thoughtful disagreements are currently being replaced by polarised and fragmented discussions. The All-In shows why this is so important to preserve, and furthermore, why at the highest level it is the fabric for success.

The fun

The majority of listeners are unlikely to have spoken to individuals as successful as the besties, let alone have the privilege to hang out with them. Turns out they are just like everyone else, with the fun between them being less about their wealth than their friendship. This is so inspiring.

The honesty

In a sea of platitudes, the All-In changes the game. The rough edges of the discussion are what make the smooth bits so much sweeter. This comes from the ability of each participant to stand by their views and be prepared to say what’s on their minds.

The preparation

Week in, week out, we are blown away by the level of preparation that goes into each episode. Very few podcasts interweave detailed data and sources each week. It’s exhausting to do behind the scenes! Keep up the good work, we say!!

The personalities

Just like every other boy band, they all have great voices. The harmonies due to the frequent interruptions are what make for compelling listening. They also balance out beautifully, which comes from their unique personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives.

The innovation

Podcasts have exploded, which has meant they tend to follow a similar format and adhere to tried and tested production values. Not so for the All-In… The cold starts, the intros, the on-air production meetings… These take skills to pull off in the edit. Behind the scenes crew, we salute you.

Keep up the good work!

Boy bands rarely stand the test of time, but think of the fans. Thanks again guys. Please don’t stop. We need you now more than ever.

(P.S.) If this ever reaches you through the Interweb, we’d like truffles or failing that an invitation to the next summit…
